# RPG Cauldron Secret Santicorn 2025

For December 2026 I plan to host the event again or something like it, but open it to the larger public.
If you are interested in these kinds of things, the [Rainbow OSR discord](https://discord.gg/6vqF25E) tends to host a Secret Santicorn in December, for which I copied here. Their culture is different and their requests tend to be smaller than what we’ve all requested this time around, though it is great fun!
Also, I suspect Prismatic Wasteland will repeat his [Hexmas](https://www.prismaticwasteland.com/blog/rankin-bass-hexcrawl) event next December. If not, I just might, or something similar. Hexmas was a community event to create a hex map under a theme, which last time was the Rankin/Bass cinematic universe, like the stop motion Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. This was _superb_.
Keep an eye out for Blog community events, like the monthly [RPG Blog Carnival](https://ofdiceanddragons.com/rpg-blog-carnival/) or Prismatic Wasteland’s (quarterly?) Blog Bandwagons ([Recent one’s on maps](https://www.prismaticwasteland.com/blog/bandwagon-the-map-is-not-the-territory-but-it-is-the-topic)).
I intend to write up my thoughts on different kinds of community events like these. I think there are more such events possible and I prefer those that encourage more intermingling.
If you want something now, then feel free to join in on the RPG Blog Festival this March! I am hosting it and the theme is “ **Tiny Epics** : _Small Souls in a Big World_”. The intent is to write a blog post on whatever you want within the theme and to share it with me for a round up post at the end of the month.
The Tiny Epics theme encourages you to explore the concept in different ways, such as
- “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids” scenarios and enemies,
- e.g., what if you took an existing adventure and have the players have to solve it while shrunk/small instead? Defeating the big bad as a group of small fairies or mice sounds promising!
- scenarios that feature small creatures, such as a fight with a swarm of small fairies or brownies
- the perspective of small anthropomorphized creatures in our natural world (e.g., [Mausritter](https://mausritter.com/srd)),
- the tales of unexpected heroes whose overlooked journey is nonetheless epic and perhaps leads to immense rippling effects in the world,
- or anything else you think of!
For the RPG Carnival, stretching and interpreting the themes in different ways is good fun!

Would you be inclined to allow me to host a Secret Santicorn in July (I don’t necessarily want to wait until December to be involved)? Since Christmas in July seems to be something retailers try to do.
I am working on my Tiny Epics post for your March Carnival topic. Thank you for pointing me in the proper direction for some of the other events. I HAD been in an active participant in the Blog Carnival back in 2009 (life intervened in a big way) and am now getting back into TTRPG blog posts.

You can do whatever you want. I do not own the Secret Santicorn event. I just made a post recording what others have done, participated in the past, and ran my own here. Its something of the OSR for the OSR community and TTRPGs in general. So my permission is not necessary.
If you host it, lemme know! I’ll gladly join for a Christmas in July. :] I was thinking of revising my original adventure more then so it’d be ready for my table around the Holidays. Glad to do some more too.
When closer to the actual event, advertising the event in the Rainbow OSR Discord may get some interest as well.
Also, they have hosted a Jackalope Event around Easter/Spring time. You could stir the pot to see if people are interested in that as well, if you want something earlier.

I’ll give it some thought. I’ve got the monthly Blog Carnival, homebrewing stuff for the games I’m in already on my plate. I need to balance my desire to do stuff with my actual available time.
