Have you had a chance to check out Mythic Bastionland? What were your biggest takeaways?

Thanks for the feedback Jeremy, I plan on continuing that style of blog for games I read/run in the future.

Excellent write up, and I think you’ve caught the big things I struggle with as well.

  1. Seer Culture is rough. Mythic Bastionland: What do the Seers say? – Githyanki Diaspora < This helped me quite a bit for actually RPing seers at the table, but I definitely think playing to the seers limitations and desires can help as well.
  2. The Physical Book. Honestly this is my biggest grief. I get it, and during prep it’s fun to just flip through and write things down, but A. referencing it all is a pain, and B. I have to tell players “DON’T LOOK AT THE MYTH” when they are copying down information from their knight page.
  3. Feats and Gambits > I wrote it all out on a custom character sheet, which helps. My 8 year-old (admittedly way too smart for his age) picked it up pretty quick after that. Mythic Bastionland: Knights & Sorcerers by Hilander

I had a realization regarding # 2 this week that I hope will help you as much as it helped me.

At the top left of each Knight and Myth page it has a D6 result and a D12 result. These correspond to their spots on the table, so you just have to remember which table result the Knight or Myth you’re referencing was on and you can reference much easier.
