We are now ten weeks into blog book club. If you missed the original post the goal is to read through and discuss blog posts that have been influential in the OSR movement, principally using Marcia B’s keystone readings list.
That list (currently) has 120 entries. At our rate of one thread per week that will take a little over two years. Finishing around November 2027. I’m okay with that - my involvement in the hobby is long term.
The two alternatives would be either to increase the frequency of discussions or skip some of the keystone readings. The former would make it more demanding to keep up with, and thus accessible to fewer people. And skipping readings would make the project less valuable: part of my goal is to give (this little chunk of) the hobby some common ground we can use as a basis for discussion. In my ideal situation everyone would read all the of them.
So, my plan is to continue on with the same approach. But I am open to feedback, hence this thread.
Also, if anyone has any other feedback on the approach, format, upcoming readings, etc. this thread would be a good place to put them.
I have really been enjoying reading along with you all and hearing your ideas and insights. Thank you to everyone who has contributed!
