A post that hasn’t stopped sticking in my head since I read it. It’s not about TTRPGs. But it’s hard for me to ignore the insight that there are limits on interest, not just opportunity or support for participation. Certainly this is a time in TTRPGs when opportunity and support can expand, and i’m happy to work at that. but this is at the back of my mind, I guess.

I don’t have a remedy, but I think accepting a limit on interest is healthy. And digging into and celebrating the creative process necessary.

The expectation that we, as creative people, should be vying for interest as a currency rather than creating and engaging with interesting work, has been the most frustrating part of creating things in the digital age. It feels like putting the cart before the horse in many respects.
