Help people find this forum!

As some of you know, Google has been refusing to index this forum for a few years now. I’ve recently discovered that if folks link here, it legitimizes this website.

Right now you can find this place by typing “RPG cauldron” in English Google search. This is very exciting, but it is still just one page out of thousands.

If you would like to help folks searching for relevant topics, please consider linking to any page in this forum from your blog or newsletter!

Thanks.

I will try to keep it in mind when I manage to make a post – I’m not sure if it helps since my blog is on Dreamwidth (and is basically me rambling into the void when I do post, lol), but I will try if I can pull some topic parallels.

I’m almost silent everywhere these days though so >_>;;

Is there anything those of us without blogs or newsletters can do beyond just word of mouth?

Another channel would be through social media platforms, such as links on Bluesky posts. Even when it doesn’t directly contribute to search engine optimization (e.g., Discord messages on private servers), it still helps spread the word, especially if you’re directing someone else to a specific post.

It’s kinda where I’m headed.

I’ve never been a good blogger. Been trying since early 2k with my original career. However, I’ve loved forums. That’s where I get my best ideas. Most are stolen, a few are derived, a rare few are somewhat original synthesis.

I’m exploring a strategy where I focus my writing and sharing in these communities and posting about my favorite interactions in a newsletter or blog. The goal is for the forums to become the blog and the blog becomes an index of topics. Occasionally, the blog might contain new content.

I’m not quite there, yet. I’m working my way out of political quicksand that’s taking up too much of my time and energy.

I can’t say that I know of anybody who’s actually read anything on my blog. I can still toss in links, I reckon.

Do links on discord help?

Haha nope.
If only! But google doesn’t index discord servers.

I’ll still spread the word there whenever possible!

I added a link to the forum from my blog, but I think it works better to make a post talking about this forum. My post was easily indexed in google and it helps to get here, it is among the first search places in Spanish if you type “RPG cauldron”.

So, I highly recommend writing a post to attract more people to the forum.

I sent out a link on Bluesky to all of my 105 followers. A few might wander over!
