This started as just a PDF, but I think it turned out okay. I see a lot of flaws, of course, but sometimes you have to tell the inner perfectionist to chill out.
I’d add more pictures, but I’m new here and it’s against the rules.

That is gorgeous. Professional looking photo also. Got the reflection from the cover right there on the white background. Something I’d expect on a webstore.
How did you do the shiny colored foil?
Thanks. Maybe I’ll post some more books as I make them. I recently did a quick bind of Secret of the Black Crag that also turned out quite well.
The shiny foil here is actually a pearl white heat transfer vinyl. It changes color depending on the angle you look at it from. When you at the book head on it’s copper colored. I cut it out and pressed it on using my public library’s maker space.
This is fantastic. I’ve thought numerous times about getting my Veins PDF printed, but the fact that it’s got sort of textured background has so far put me off the idea. Any chance you could share some interior photos, if the limits of posting allow?
Honestly, this was a gift for my brother. I bought him a copy of the pdf a long time ago, but I didn’t think he’d read it if it wasn’t physical. I already sent it off to him. I didn’t think to take any pictures of the inside.
Here’s some pictures of a test print for the end papers (the part that attaches to the cover). At least that will give you some idea of what to expect. After printing, I had to trim the excess white space off. It’s kind of a bummer because you have to take off more than you’d like. If only I could get the version LotFP sent to their printer…
I may make one for myself some other time, but I’m currently working on several other binds including Castle Zyntillan and a Stonehell omnibus.
P.S. this endpaper might be in the wrong order, that’s why it was a test print. The one in the bound book is correct.
P.P.S I wouldn’t have done this if I didn’t have a supertank printer. Printing hundreds of color pages at a copy center is prohibitively expensive.
Supertank FTW, i print like a shop and still have yet to use my initial dose of ink. I would have replaced 5 inkjet carts by now.
This looks so good! If I knew how to bind books, this is definitely one I would want to do.
