My abandoned D&D hacks: a grand tour

Tomorrow is my third anniversary as a moderator of the NSR Cauldron Discord server, so I thought I would take the opportunity to look over the hoard of abandoned hacks I’ve accumulated over the past ~5 years.

I’ve never done anything like this before but I hope it’s interesting to someone! It’s 80 minutes but you can always watch on double-speed  https://youtu.be/AlCCRmtOoOg

I really appreciate the vulnerability here in showing your process, progress, and motivations. I think what you said about needing to allow yourself to move on creatively resonates.

I’m constantly struggling to reconcile my ADHD/Depression/Anxiety with my creative endeavors and the all-or-nothing thinking can sometimes be crippling, leading to task abandonment. I’ve been a part of many publishing projects through my job but when it comes to my personal output it becomes much more precious. I’m trying hard to let go of that and put myself out there and not dwell on the things I’m embarrassed about or wish I had done differently. Instead, just make something else. Put my mind toward the next creation or the next part of a project. Allow successes to pile up rather than obsess over failure.

It’s also nice to see the transitions of thought between iterations. That evolutionary path from one idea to the next. Every creative person has their own idiosyncratic process and I find it fascinating. Thanks for sharing!
