Random and Balanced Ability Scores

I came up with a way to roll ability scores that’s random but always sums to 63. I wrote this a while ago, but never shared it anywhere.

I’ve seen something similar before. Your modification to add randomness offers a whole new dimension to it. Cool!

I think I’d simply let the player decide which traits to match up with each column of dice. “This front-side roll goes into Dex and the back-side roll will go into…Wis” kinda thing. Gives the player a bit of control over score placement without changing the 63 pt total.
