Review: The White Horse of Lowvale

I recently got Folk Horror module The White Horse of Lowvale by Tania Herrero. Is this gorgeous book right for your table? You’ll have to read to find out.

Your comments about reading sections of a module to the players like a storybook—and showing the pictures to the players—really has me wanting a list of modules that work for that!

Oh, I think it would be really cool to see, though I don’t know how practical it would be unless you are a designer like Tania who can provide the art for it yourself. I was imagining how cool the Black Wyrm of Brandonsford would be if an NPC was telling the story of Brandon killing the first dragon and it was accompanied with picture book spreads like this.

picture book sections of a module is a pretty brilliant idea.

I love leaning into the literary origins of RPGs… and making things more bookish. also one big reason I like boxed text. reading a text out loud is cool.
