Oh this looks awesome. I really want to get my group to do this.
Don’t suppose there is a YouTube demo of this?
I was in one of Jack’s groups for this. Just a great time and something that really creates an interesting setting you can imagine playing in, as Jack describes.
This is sweet. I bought the pdf and printed out a little zine, im hoping to sit down and try it solo soon, then try it with some buds.
I’ve tried ‘Foundations,’ a solo world building rpg, but I like that this is both more structured (action points!) but also more open ended.
Tested this out with my fiancé. It’s… fine. There’s a lot of tracking of Action Points and the Action Tally that I found kind of annoying and I’m not really sure what it added.
The real meat of the game was the different kinds of actions you can do to create peoples and heroes and villains and decide what they do.
I feel as though if all we did was take turns deciding which action to take and not worry about their costs, it would have amounted to a very similar end product without the headache.
I tried doing this solo and felt it was a little too overwhelming to simulate players. I am trying to curate my meetup to play with folks who have worldbuilding tastes compatible with mine to give it a try.
