To activate: pound loudly on a door and announce in a stentorian voice, “Woe to you tax evaders, and render now your fair payment or else taste the wrath of the Emperor”. A map of the rooms and passages beyond appears carved in the door, with the three most significant treasures marked.
Recharge: Recover the three marked treasures and give the most valuable one to the local government.
• A delicate smooth red stone ring. Almost indestructible. Once put on, its weight becomes 2000 lbs. When taken off, the weight becomes negligible again.
• To recharge: someone must carry the bearer with the ring in their hand, over their head for 15 minutes.
A gaudy purple and yellow band of stone. Summons a richly decorated and colourful market stall. The contents of any bag the wearer places on the counter are instantly arranged neatly for display. When the wearer walks away the stall evaporates with a smell of coffee and any displayed goods fall to the floor.
Recharge: Make a sale worth at least 100 gold somewhere unusual you have never made a sale before: in a forest, a mountain pass, underground, etc.
When activated the user can walk on walls, ceilings or any surface that could support their weight. Their body will remain perpendicular to the surfce they walk on. The effect lasts half an hour.
Recharge: Remain perpendicular to the ground for a whole day. You may not sit, lay down etc.
A very large and elaborate silver ring, set with numerous pale moonstones. As long as the bearer holds their breath, they can change their appearance to that of anyone they have seen. Clothing and facial features can be changed, but not height or mass. The ring itself is always unchanged and remains visible on the bearer’s hand. Once activated, the bearer can transform by holding their breath, up until the moon sets, after which the ring is unusable until it recharges.
When either ring is activated, any object that passes through its band emerges from the other. Each ring may serve as the “sender” once before being recharged.
Tie the rings together and bring them through seven unique doors to recharge them.
Silver snowflakes joined together to form a delicate band.
When it is put on a finger the wearer is instantly frozen solid. Chill mist billows around them, and all effects of time (aging, illness, decomposition) are halted. The effect lasts until the ring is taken off, up to a maximum of a year and a day.
Recharge: Leave the ring in a snowdrift on a mountain peak. One week later it will be in the belly of the first fish caught in the first lake downstream.
The wearer can sacrifice some of their vitality to summon a small copy of themself, which will obey their every command.
The wearer must “invest” some of their attributes into this homunculus (at least 1 point each of STR, DEX, WIL which become the stats for the homunculus. It has the same HP as the wearer). The wearer removes those points from their attribute maximums.
This loss of vitality remains until the homunculus is reintegrated with the wearer (reintegration could be as simple as a hug, or a complex ritual. I leave it up to the warden).
If the homunculus dies, the vitality loss is permanent.
The homunculus has no equipment and is wearing only rags.
A frosted glass ring, tough as steel, chill to the touch.
Until you take the ring off, no matter the temperature around you, you feel like you are in the heart of a freezing blizzard. You can walk through even a furnace without being burned. Every round you take 1d6 damage that ignores regular armour. Heavy cold weather gear provides 3 armour against this harm.
Recharge: Feed the ring to a creature of ice and fire (e.g. remorhaz) and then slay it and retrieve the ring from the corpse.
Verdigried copper ring with waves etched all round
If you strike falling water with the beringed hand then the falling droplets briefly form an image. The image they form is the nearest creature larger than a rat in the direction you’re facing.
Recharge: Use watercolours to paint a monster from life.
A pair of gold rings with matching inscriptions on the inside.
When either ring is activated by the wearer, the two rings are locked into place relative to each other. Any movement made by one is matched by the other. The effect lasts an hour, or until deactivated.
Recharge: Separate the rings so they are beyond each other’s horizon.
