Oh, I love these illustrations! Congrats!
Hi my name is Travis, I’ve been playing since the late 80’s though I took a break in the early 2000’s. I started with AD&D and played a lot of other RPGs over the years. My main game for the last decade or so has been Swords & Wizardry but I play at conventions and in some one shots for new(ish) games at the local game shops when I get the chance. I blog at https://grumpywizard.home.blog/ if you are interested.
Heya! I am Ryan nice to be apart of the community <3 I just found out about OSR/NSR not that long ago and ive been trying to devour all the information and blog posts I can. Ive been trying to find the right system for me and my group. Loving the posts here already.
Hi I’m Wes, and I run DM Tales on YouTube, blog, and associated accounts.
I got started with Moldvay-Cook B/X, and collected RPGs back in the day. I was away from the hobby from 17 until the Pandemic, and now it’s my midlife crisis.
I enjoy older school style games, as well as game with some different mechanics.
Right now I’m running Dragonbane, Numenera, and Cypher System Super Heroes campaigns. I also ran Basic Fantasy RPG for about three years.
hello, i’ve been into making and sharing games since i was small enough to throw around. i grew up quiet in a loud world, found peace in small, private game experiences and starting writing and drawing about what grabbed me from those experiences.
there’s a lot more to say but i really don’t know where to start. i came here because i heard it was relatively difficult to find, which is a plus for me. sorry for my lack of capitalisation, call it a Quirk. i’m going to go read some posts now, see you around.
Hi! I’m Tom. I learned about this forum on the Ship of the Dead podcast and ::gasp:: looked it up on BING! I’ve been around for a loooong time. Not quite grognard time but definitely grognard adjacent. These days my blog may be slumbering, but I’m as busy as ever working on my hobby. I co-sponsor an after school roleplaying club for middle school students where I write a majority of the content. For my home game, my group and I are revisiting Dark Sun, a world I haven’t really lived in since 1994. We are using Green Ronin’s Fantasy AGE for the game system.
Anyway, I’m always excited to check out new communities and looking forward to seeing what you fine folks have been up to.
Hello, I’m Martin (he/him). I live in London and I’m in my 30s.
I discovered RPGs in school via 3E, expanded outwards into story games and PBTA in my 20s, and then discovered the OSR movement. I’m still into both randomised, lethal dungeon crawling as well as more narrative stuff. I was active on the story games forum when it existed.
It’s very hard for me to actually play at the moment, as I have chronic fatigue and a child with special needs, but I’d like to talk to you guys, and maybe I’ll get a chance to play again.
I want to help make this a place full of kindness ![]()
Will P here! Well, not sure where to start, but I like making games, talking about them, and playing them! Also interested in accessibility and accessible design, building community, and supporting other folks in their endeavors! Happy to be here!
Hey everyone. Im going by warenunförmig in this space. I‘ve recently gotten back into rpgs and I am currently running cairn/ito games. I‘d love to create more things myself which is why I also set up a blog. Excited to give discourse a try. Discord just moves too fast for me.
Hey, Paul here, nice to meet everyone. I blog about rpgs here, and have a published Mausritter adventure here (hope to have more published adventures available this year!)
Haha. Welcome to the mad house my brother. Good to see you here.
It’s great to be here!
Hey, hi, Kate here! RPG enthusiast, dice tinkerer, avid reader and sometimes mountain trekker. What interests me the most is how TTRPGs work (random generator, mechanic, resolution, systems). Not necessarily crunchy stuff, though, my favorite games are in fact rule-lite ones.
Here to join discussions and share ideas!
Hi, I’m Mac, 63 year old guy from the UK. I’m a returning roleplayer. Played lots of the original DnD in the 70s and 80s. Then 1e ADnD, followed by Call of Cthulhu and a few other rpg’s like Golden Heroes, Marvel Superheroes and Ghostbusters. Then stopped and stuck with wargaming and military modelling for the last three decades or more.
Just trying to get back into roleplaying and am amazed at the variety of games and systems available! Playing solo, so am very interested in solo games, or solo-variants of GM’d games.
Mac
Greetings! My name is Shawn, I found out about this place as a result of the Gary Con OSR panel discussion and finally signed up.
I started playing mashed up Mentzer D&D/AD&D back in the late 80’s. These days I typically play house-ruled B/X (OSE Advanced) but am also interested in newer rules light systems as well. I’m excited to see what everyone has going on here, cheers!
Hi, I’m Jakub, also known as Mrakomrak, and I’m from the Czech Republic. I’ve been into TTRPGs since the 90s, when I started with the Czech version of D&D called Dračí Doupě. I’ve moved through D&D 2e and 3e. Currently, I most enjoy playing OSR and minimalist TTRPGs like 2400, etc. Besides that, I like sci-fi and fantasy literature – I’m currently reading the Sun Eater series – and I play guitar in a band called Black Burley. Take care and enjoy life!
Hi all, I just decided to reactivate this account.
I’m Gus L, I mostly write dungeon crawl adventures and sometimes blog at All Dead Generations. I used to blog at Dungeon of Signs.
I was running a long term mega-dungeon campaign, but have been on hiatus for work since June 2025.
I just realized I’ve yet to introduce myself. Mea culpa!
I’m Larry and I began playing in the Late Stone Age…nah, it was 1981. A friend had described this D&D game to me, so when a new kid moved into town and brought his AD&D books to school, I borrowed the DMG and read it cover-to-cover, twice. The new kid asked me to DM a game and I then read the PH before we got started. Straight into the fire GMing AD&D.
A few decades back I did some freelance work in the industry. I’ve a Calliope Award sitting on a shelf here from that, plus a whole lots of work that died in publishing pipelines. My major geek street cred comes from having edited Gygax’s last RPG, Lejendary Adventures (the Rules for All Players and the tables in the back of the GM’s book, plus I wrote the adventure included with the GM’s screen).
I’ve been tinkering with system design since before I found RPGs, beginning with board game variants and then miniatures rules systems, and then RPGs. (Yes, a grognard who came to RPGs from wargames.) I’m currently hashing out a couple of projects and interrupting myself with work on sub-systems for projects I’m not working on, if that makes sense.
Hi, I’m hexhog. I only started to get back into RPGs a few years ago after an, uhm, 20 year hiatus. I greatly enjoy designing my own stuff, most of which is available for free on itch. I am a perpetual GM and have run Mörk Borg (the game that brought me back to roleplaying), Trophy Gold and recently Mythic Bastionland. Other than playing myself, my greatest source of joy in the hobby is when people run my stuff and have fun.
Hi y’all. I’m xelor, and I’ve been playing RPGs for about 10 years now. I’ve played a lot of OSR style and have been migrating to minimalist style games more and more. I play in a weekly OSE game and also do a lot of solo RPG as well. I’m interested in exploring new systems and seeing what all is going on around here!
