Hi folks!

Lured here by the Cairn forest jam. I’m Dan, played RPGs in my childhood, roughly 1980-1990, then rediscovered them during COVID. I run Peakrill Press and you can find me at…

Heya. I’m Jeff, and rpgs have been my favorite pastime and my obsession for decades.

If I can’t be playing a game, I’m either talking about games online or reading about them, or reading a game book, or prepping for a game, writing about gaming topics in a blog I don’t bother to publish, or scribbling half baked game design ideas into a notebook I don’t share. My wife is very understanding of my obsession and feeds my hobby <3

I think about these things a lot, so I’m a big fan of discord and forums. I try to spread my long winded monologues out across many discord servers to avoid inundating any one group of people too often

I don’t typically succeed at blogging but I am hoping to write a lot on this forum to get a similar outlet.

Hey
I’m Alessandro. I study and design games (like these) and have recently stumbled upon this community and the whole NSR concept.
Nice to meet ya all

Hi everyone. I’m Brian, I’m Scottish and, like so many of us it seems, I played in my teens (in the 1980s) and then found the path back into the dark and mist-entangled forest of indie gaming years later. I’m currently enjoying lots of things, but principally IntoThe Odd and Cairn. I haven’t created anything for sharing yet, but some ideas are appearing to me through that mist… At the moment, I’m just enjoying reading the discussion here. It looks like a great community!

Hi everyone!

I’m Lorenzo and I’m writing from Italy. I first started playing D&D with my father’s abandoned BECMI copy and after years playing the most rules-heavy edition of the world’s most famous RPG game, I’ve decided I’m happier in the rules-light territory.

I have an Italian blog with a Latin name (Omnia Incommoda, Certitudo Nulla) and a more English-friendly Itch.io page. Also, along with @zeruhur, I’m working at the Italian translation of Cairn’s website.

Hi, I’m Arkys! I discovered this place by way of OSR in general, but specifically by a link on the 2400 page on itch!

I’m mostly a collector of systems and adventures for now, and I’ve previously been both a player and a GM in 5E, and a player in 3.5 and Pathfinder. I’ve been getting into OSR/NSR/other related things a lot over the past few months.

Currently I’m mostly playing solo to test out different systems, and because it’s fun, but I’m trying to rope in some irl friends for a few games with different systems.

Nice to meet you all!

Hi all!

I’m Francesco, an Italian TTRPG enthusiast since the eighties.

I enjoy translating games into Italian and cooking up concoctions of rules and ideas.

I’m here because I’m getting interested in Cairn and I’m pleased to note that there’re several people I’ve already had the pleasure of collaborating or chatting a bit.

I’ll see you around!

Hullo, I’m Lee. Latest project was Wulfwald RPG wich is currently being edited into shape and produced by a great team led by Paolo of Lost Pages I like messing about building setting and tweaking stuff rather than out and out system design. At the moment I’m interested in Sandbox, Hexcrawl, and adventure design.

Hey all! I’m Andros (he/him), a HS student from South Florida who started out playing RPGs with 5e but discovered the OSR/NSR scene about a year ago. Unfortunately, outside of a single one-shot, my group has been unwilling to play any non-5e RPGs, so pretty much all of my experience with other games comes from solo play. I’m currently trying my hand at creating a game.

Hi all! I am La esquina del rol and I am from Mexico. I am a translator amateur. I have a web where I shared with permision SRDs transalted into spanish (from game like Ironsworn, Primal Quest, Cairn, Charge SRD, etc.). I, Antigona and Alinel translated Cairn into spanish. Now, I am layouting the spanish edition for Cairn in PDF and hope it to press.

Sometimes, I designed supplement for TTRPG, like “No one else here!” a Weird Stone & Sorcery Solo Adventure supplement for Primal Quest Essentials.

Hi, Aron here - GenX’er from California. Found my way here from the NSR Discord server. I’m close to releasing a D&D heartbreaker, an Indie OSR mashup. Love seeing all the cool stuff going on in our hobby.

I’m Jacob.

Been playing games for just over a decade. Started with the playtest of Ampersand Game 5E, then branched out into more story and indie games. I only started getting into the OSR, NSR, and etc very recently.

Currently trying to branch into the design side of things—working on a little game called Fell and another tentatively titled Fast Cars with Fangs and Family (think Fast & Furious, but the cars are vampires).

Joined the discord but the pace of conversation here seems a little more my speed. Discord stresses me out.

Hi, everybody!

Hello!! I am in agreement with you on the Discord pace. I definitely mute most servers unless DM-ed. That does tend to help. Welcome to the slower zone.

Hi, I’m Scott. The writing half of Creative Sphere Games. Looking for other groups/avenues to talk about games, design, and stuff. Like some of the other folks, I struggle with keeping up on Discord unless I’m directly talked to.

Look forward to this space.

Hi, I’m Stuart. I’m a writer and game designer (more writer than game designer). I am working on a post-apoc game at the moment. Something old schooly with new schooly things. And d6’s. And lots of tables.

Talk to me about old games, dungeon crawls, retro video games, and trashy films.

Most of my stuff is here.

Hi there, I’m Selene! I’ve been interested in TTRPGs for quite a while but only learned about the OSR and NSR around half a year ago.

I’ve been into linguistics and especially conlanging for several years now, but it has recently started to turn into an interest in worldbuilding as a whole. I also do a fair amount of programming in my free time and very much would like to make a roguelike one day.

Nice to meet everyone!
